The Ozark Trail 6-in-1 Multi Tool Model 5335
I realize that Ozark Trail is anything but the king of knives, more like its dirt poor cousin. In another time they probably were considered the cheapest of the cheap, a kin to buying a knife at K-Mart. Add to that the fact it is manufactured in China (which BTW, is not considered as bad these days!), and one would wonder why anyone would pay a passing notice. But after the Ozark Trail 7.5 inch folder with D2 steel which 'broke the internet' with interest), folks might be paying a little more notice to this brand.
I picked this knife up on one of my many trips through Walmart. It was considerably marked down, I think, to around $6 (now retails for $13.36). Looking at the tools it had I realized for the price it would make a good knife to throw in the car for emergencies. The window breaking tool, in fact, is built right into the main knife, as opposed to being just an 'add on', and that was a plus, considering the same item fell off of a RUKO knife I reviewed in a previous post. Includes: pocket knife, mini flashlight, fire starter (with ferro rod), glass breaker, cord cutter, and bottle opener. Nothing special mentioned about the stainless steel in the knife (just that it is a nondescript Chinese made steel). The knife has a serrated edge.
You can find any number of video reviews for this knife (may be around at least 15, as far as I can tell!), so apparently it has caught the attention of a few people. I'm not sure anyone is super impressed, but they are taking the time to review it and realize it has some usefulness. If you need a knife for emergencies you don't need to stock your car with a fancy knife over $100, as long as it will serve your purpose in a moment of need. I think it will do the trick, in my opinion. You can pick one up and be your on judge.
